About the authors
Charles David Kelley, a Latvian-American with dual citizenship is a minister and the Founder and President of Bridge Builders International. He has been working on behalf of Latvia since 1985 when he first visited the land of his mother and grandparents.
Chuck has degrees in cultural anthropology, Biblical studies and intercultural ministry from Biola University and Dallas Theological Seminary. He has also studied at Oregon State University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served churches in California, Texas and Oregon in various pastoral positions for 21 years. Chuck has been married to Nancy (Heidebrecht) Kelley since 1977 and together they have four grown children and two grandchildren. Their family home is in Philomath, Oregon, USA, but they live in Riga, Latvia for five or six months a year. In his free time Chuck enjoys painting, photography, and playing the piano. Kristen Zetsche has been professionally editing and writing for eleven years. She has specialized in technical and business writing and in the editing of academic texts. Her foreign language experience, especially her fluency in German, has uniquely equipped her to edit English texts written by non-native English speakers. Most recently she has also branched out into website marketing and direct-mail copywriting.
Kristen taught English in China and Germany for eight years. She received her B.A. in English from Seattle Pacific University, where she was also awarded the annual Donald M. McNichols Outstanding Student of the Humanities award for excellence in writing. Kristen lives in Berlin, Germany with her husband and three children.
